China’s Clean Energy 
China saw over half of newly installed power generation sourced from renewable energy in 2018-or 66 GigaWatts of electricity-according to the China Electricity Council. Their latest snapshot showed power grid investment of nearly $540B in a sector that traditionally drives the country’s copper demand.


Bone Disease Sees Copper Breakthrough
Irish researchers have developed a treatment for osteomyelitis that combines copper particles into an implant for bone repair.


Promoting India’s Electrical Safety
ICA India in partnership with the Chief Electrical Inspectorate of Maharashtra recently ran Electrical Safety Week to raise public awareness. The Week specifically outlined new provisions for electrical safety regulations including technology, problems and challenges in meeting higher standards.


China’s Electrical Vehicles
ICA China has joined the group standard formulation committee for electric vehicles charging infrastructure following earlier work on an installation standard that was adopted. It’s estimated that over 20,000 tons of copper will be used each year in the wire and cable requirements of EV charging systems.

Flexible, lightweight and 100% recycled, copper is today’s sustainable building material as red metal facades pop up in new buildings all over the world.


China High Performance Motors
ICA China held a seminar covering the High Performance Motor Promotion Project MIT, a feasibility study into the production and application of high efficiency, energy saving motors. More than a dozen expert groups, including the Department of Energy Conservation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended and spoke on the project’s implementation and pre-investigation results.
